A few weeks ago I was introduced to Jeff Williams, the current resident of SESSION at RECESS (SoHo). He is working on a ongoing project called Worn Thin, "a series of sculptural interventions that slowly wear down their own structures". He's created these tinkered contraptions that drip and sizzle, bend to break, and slowly blast. His work has exposed me to yet another category of sculpture that I've experienced, but didn't have the vocabulary to classify: Machine Art. While I don't attempt to place Jeff within any category- I do appreciate what the heading can offer in terms of research. Stay tuned...
