M. Asli Dukan is an amazing filmmaker with an enviable sense of vision. She imagines a future where the the stories of colored folk continue to evolve, and are seasoned with technology and the alien-ness of the unknown. I have been fortunate enough to follow her work from my earliest days as a new New Yorker, by attending her Invisible Universe Conferences. In addition to her fictional projects, Mz. Dukan is developing a documentary featuring the history of Black people in science fiction.
